Sherlock Bones is a 1 year old Miniature Schnauzer x Border Terrier mix who’s sniffing out the clues to find his forever home! Sherlock was rescued from the shelter after we agreed to help him solve the case of his mysterious past. What we do know is that this handsome gentleman is just the absolute best dog in the world! Sherlock weighs 24 pounds, making him the perfect size for all the adventures you have in store with him. Come on down to the detective agency and meet Mr. Sherlock Bones today!

Sherlock Bones is the biggest cuddle bug in the entire world according to… literally everyone who has ever met him! He almost instantly rolled onto his belly in the shelter and that truly demonstrates the amazing dog Sherlock is. Sherlock loves his people and is happiest when he can be where you are. Whether on a long hike or on the couch, he’s just ready to be part of your family. Sherlock is also a gymnast! He can hop up on the couch or into your arms with ease. Like his namesake, Sherlock is super smart as well and picks up on new tricks quickly. He is very food motivated and would be thrilled to discover new snacks at dog-friendly restaurants with you! Sherlock is the perfect mix of playful and relaxed. He’s happy to play fetch for as long as you’re willing to throw the ball but then he will happily flop down for some cuddles afterwards. Sherlock is ready to be your loyal right hand man for all the adventures on your bucket list. He’ll help you memories and experiences beyond your wildest dreams from the moment you bring him into your home!

Sherlock wakes up around 8 AM and hangs out in his crate for around 30 minutes until he goes out for a morning walk. He returns home and enjoys his kibble breakfast. Once he’s eaten, he’s ready for a few games of fetch with his favorite squirrel toy. The rest of the morning and afternoon is spent as a cuddly lap dog, being as close to you as possible. He goes out for a pee break at 1 PM and then gets a longer walk at 6 PM. He eats dinner and then is ready for more cuddle time! He loves rolling onto his back as you scratch his belly and shower him in love. Sherlock goes out for one last potty and then heads into his crate around 11 PM for the night.

Sherlock Bones does well with dogs when he is given a slow introduction. He would benefit from additional training and socialization as he is still pretty much a puppy. Sherlock is crate trained and is happy to quietly hang out when he needs to. This playful gentleman can’t wait to meet you and win your heart! Come solve the mystery of your missing best friend and adopt Sherlock Bones!

Sherlock Bones is an option for a variety of homes, even if they do not have dog owning experience. Kids should be over the age of 10.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
