Why this pet is the one for you:
Sweet Pea is a devoted lap cat who loves being pet and handled. She's calm and easygoing, even during claw clipping, and has a relaxed demeanor that makes her an ideal companion. While she enjoys quiet moments, she occasionally gets bursts of energy, entertaining herself with stuffed toys and balls. Her cat tree is her favorite spot, where she can perch and lounge peacefully. Though initially reserved, Sweet Pea may need a bit of time to feel at ease in new surroundings and with unfamiliar faces. Providing her with a quiet space to acclimate will help her settle in and allow her sweet personality to shine. With patience and a calm environment, she'll become a loving and loyal member of your family. Sweet Pea is comfortable sharing her space with another cat, provided her boundaries are respected. She prefers peaceful coexistence and may let out a hiss if her space is invaded. If this gentle and independent gal sounds like the perfect fit for your home, come meet her today-don't forget a top-loading carrier for the journey home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
