My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kali and Kleo, a bonded duo of delightful little ladies who are inseparable in their love for each other and the people they trust.

Kali is a 5-year-old, 14lb Cockapoo with a soft, white coat. Her partner-in-crime, Kleo, is a 3-year-old, 14lb mix (likely Cockapoo with a touch of Shih Tzu) sporting a black coat and an adorable underbite that adds a dash of charm to her personality.

These girls came to us under unfortunate circumstances and are on the road to healing. Neglected in their previous home, they endured matting and rough handling, which has left them sensitive to being picked up and wary of grooming. They are, however, learning to trust again and need adopters who will continue to show them patience and kindness as they blossom.

These girls would prefer an adult only home due to their history and sensitivities. They love being the center of attention and would thrive as the only dogs in the household. Clear boundaries and consistent guidance is a must in their forever home.

Both girls are incredibly bonded and must be adopted together. They love to snuggle, both with each other and with their person, and will happily curl up in your lap for some loving. While they aren’t fans of being carried, they’ll jump into your lap when they feel secure. They are crate-trained, quiet overnight, and content to share a large crate where they snuggle up together. House-training is on point and they will let you know when they need to go outside. They are still working on their leash manners, as they can be enthusiastic pullers. A physically fenced yard is a plus.

Kali and Kleo are a delightful pair who’ve already made great strides in their foster home. With time, love, and patience, these sweet girls will reward you with endless affection and loyalty. If you’re ready to give Kali and Kleo the stable, loving home they deserve, apply today!

Kali and Kleo are currently being fostered in the Cincinnati area. The adoption fee for this bonded pair is $500.00.

To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

More about this rescue

Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue, Inc., non-profit and no kill, aims to alleviate the suffering of abandoned shelter animals by rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming them within our community.

We are proudly foster-based, meaning our animals live in homes, not shelters. This differentiates us and allows us to more thoroughly get to know our animals, ensuring they are matched with suitable, screened adoptive homes which meet our high standards.

As part of our commitment to the health and well-being of all of our animals and to reduce pet overpopulation in our community, every pet is spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

We are committed to ensuring the safety of our animals for their entire lifetimes so that they will never suffer abuse, neglect or abandonment again.
