My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Mei was brought in by a her previous owner on December 18, 2024,

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Mei, the queen of her own castle and your soon-to-be feline ruler (if you're worthy). With her fabulous personality and a flair for the dramatic, Mei is here to show you what it means to live life on her terms. She's a proud card-carrying member of the exclusive "No Cats, No Kids, No Dogs" club, and she's not afraid to flaunt it. Think of her as the feline equivalent of a velvet-rope VIP-selective, stylish, and oh-so-worth it. Mei is a cuddle connoisseur, but only when the stars align (and you've passed her vibe check). Attention? She's into it-on her schedule, of course. She'll keep you entertained with her quirks and her knack for finding the coziest sunbeam in the room. Just make sure to brush up on your feline body language because this diva doesn't suffer fools lightly. If you're cat-savvy and appreciate a gal with a touch of sass, Mei will fit right into your world. One thing to note: Mei has a Grade 2/6 heart murmur, which could mean some changes to her heart's structure. It's nothing dramatic, but a follow-up with your vet is recommended to keep her fabulous self in tip-top shape. If you're ready for the challenge (and joy) of being owned by this glorious creature, grab your top-loading carrier-it's not just practical; it's the only ride Mei deserves.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
