Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I'm a mix of Chihuahua, Toy Fox Terrier, Japanese Chin, and 13 other breeds! I am REALLY high energy and need space to run around in. I love running outside, I'm super fast and cute when I do it. I need to be in a home with another dog and a fenced in yard. I have been bounced around from place-to-place and am not quite sure where I fit in, so I tend to get anxious: jumping, having accidents, nipping at people touching my tummy, and barking when I'm left by myself. I really struggled with "potty outside" and had a foster family work at helping me understand that I'm supposed to do my business outside but I still have the occasional accident. Before I hadn't had much time in a home and didn't understand all of the behavior was supposed to. I definitely need time to adjust and some training, but for the right family or person willing to put in the effort I'll reward with all my love and kisses. If you are interested in adopting this adorable 4 year old canine weighing 20 pounds, please FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION on our website www.safehavenforpets.org. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 815-858-2265 or email us atsafehaven1471@gmail.com. Dog adoption donations are $200 which includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, Heartworm test, Lyme test, Bordetella, flea & tick preventative, heartworm prevention, deworming, and microchip. Once an application is approved, we ask potential adopters to come to the shelter to visit the pet or pets they are interested in. If it seems like a great fit, then we would have you fill out the Adoption Contract and provide you with the pet's medical chart, some of the food it is currently eating, and offer any advice we can on that individual cat or dog.
