Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Rue!
Nickname: Plumber Girl (she likes to drink water from the tub, shower, toilet, anywhere)
Breed: GSD Mix
Rescue: Albert’s Dog Lounge
Age: Young (just coming up on a year)
Weight: 63 lbs
Fun fact: Though Rue is deaf, she is a working breed girl who would love something to do with that big brain of hers! She would love to be your hiking guide, work with you at agility classes, do scent work with you, or even check out dock diving!
Foster home: Janesville, WI
Activity level: High (I am a working breed youngster!)
Friendly with: Dogs, but would thrive with a similar size dog who can teach her how to be a dog. She has been around children in her previous home. She does understand the cat's cues to leave her be.
Sleep style: She would love to be in bed with you, but until housebreaking is completely 100%, we are having her sleep in a crate.
Meals: 2 cups of dry puppy food 2X a day. Very food motivated. Enjoys frozen kongs filled with wet food
Snore-o-meter: 1 (quiet gal)
Bark-o-meter: 4 (barks when someone comes to the door)
Shedding meter: hard to tell, as she is in a foster home with a husky and a husky mix. No clue who's hair is who's.
Fashion: PJs and Chill! I love the Pittie pajamas that are out there! I can wear them too!
Signature color: Lime green pops against her fur!
Walk out song: Jackass theme song—willing to follow anyone into a crazy adventure. You jump, I jump!
Favorite season: Summer!! Loves to explore the world with her people.
Personality: gentle, affectionate, loving, quirky, curious, cuddly
Best feature: Head tilt with floppy ears. Beautiful coat and easy to love personality. She just wants to love and be loved.
Signature move: Nesting into blankets
Loves: Mealtime, cheese, lazy Sundays, socializing, ear rubs, back scratches, SNIFFari in the yard & lounging with her people
Bucket list: I love to smell everything, so let's take a flower arranging class together! I would also love to continue working on hand signs for training me!
Spayed
Microchipped
Housebreaking is a work in progress
Takes treats enthusiastically
Excited on leash
Some fear of car rides, but working on them!
Working on crate training and improving every day!
UTD on vaccinations
UTD on preventatives
It seems as if Rue didn’t have a lot of positive exposure experiences before. Getting in and out of the car is scary for her. The crate seems to be a new and intimidating experience. Having open space and a fenced in yard is a new experience for her. Cats are new, but fun to chase. She does eat her food fast, but we’ve been using a slow feeder and that seems to be helping. Frozen Kongs and a variety of toys are helpful. Will mostly only barks when in the crate. She does seem to have a little FOMO. Wants to be near people and in the middle of the action. Working on house breaking. No issues with food but we do feed in the crate

Albert's Dog Lounge is a foster-based rescue providing compassionate care to special needs, senior, and hospice dogs.
Our adoption process begins with a completed application. From there, we will review references and vet records. The next step is a home visit with your family. This visit may be in person or virtual. At that point, if approved, we will set up a meet and greet with available dogs.
All dogs have an adoption fee of $275 for a single dog or $500 for (bonded) pair, unless otherwise noted.
Note: Pairs must be adopted at the same time to get the reduced adoption fee.
-Applications with incomplete information will not be processed.
- All current dogs in the home must be spayed or neutered, up to date on rabies vaccination, up to date on DHLPP, up to date on Heartworm testing and preventative.
- All cats in the home must be spayed or neutered and up to date on a rabies vaccination or wellness exam.
- None of our dogs will be adopted to prospective owners who mislead or fail to provide accurate information on the adoption application and/or the adoption contract. Albert's Dog Lounge reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone.
- You must agree that if you are no longer able to keep your rescue dog for whatever reason, the dog will be returned to Albert's Dog Lounge. The adopter must agree to never attempt to sell or rehome the dog at any point.
Our goal is to place our seniors into permanent, loving homes for the rest of their golden years.
