Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Gray/white bicolor, long-medium hair, neutered male, born approx. 6/1/18, #19334
Cats: likely fine Dogs: likely not Children: quiet older kids
BACKGROUND: Franklin was found in sorry shape, thin and malnourished, struggling to find food in trash bins and just trying to survive. His skin was a mess and his eyes were so sad. He needed time and TLC in foster care to both physically and mentally recover and regroup. Now Franklin enjoys warm places and good company, never skips a meal, and is ready to find a loving home!
PERSONALITY: Franklin is such a lovely boy, and as his skin improved so did his fluffy fur! He enjoys being gently groomed with a brush and keeping his fur in tip-top shape can be a happy experience for both him and you. Pets around his head and neck area are Franklin’s favorite thing: give him a few scratches under his chin and he’ll melt like butter. He’d prefer if you don’t pick him up much, as he feels uncertain about things when his paws aren’t under his control, but once Franklin gets to know you he is very willing to come to you for attention and bonding time. He is good with new people if they’re not too loud or abrasive; he wants a slow and gentle introduction and an overall quiet home. Given that, this handsome boy shines!
COMPATIBILITY: Franklin has largely been in his own space in foster care, but he has shown interest in the other cats he’s seen and seems open to interaction, so we think he could do well living with another mellow cat if given a proper intro. He is not comfortable around dogs, at least large ones. Calm and respectful older children who aren’t too loud or boisterous would be best.
Franklin is looking for a quiet and loving home where he can live his days in peace and comfort. Will you make this wonderful kitty’s dream come true?
While healthy, Franklin tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This is a type of virus that typically causes some weakening of a cat’s immune system. It is a cat-only virus and cannot be spread through casual friendly contact between cats. FIV+ cats can and do live quite normal lives in quality, duration, and happiness. A good informative website is FIVCats.com.
