Meet Wanda!
- Velcro pup. Completely devoted to her humans and wants to be by your side at all times.
- Loves belly rubs, pets, and chasing things, but her favorite activity is simply being with you.
- Will vocalize her thoughts, announce visitors, tattle on her brother, or just hear herself talk.
- Excitable when meeting people, with a tendency to jump, but she’s learning to be more polite.
- Absolutely adores children and is mostly gentle, though her puppy energy makes her jumpier than her brother.
- Does best in a crate with another dog in sight and stays calm as long as she’s not alone.
- Doing well with potty training!
- Thrives on praise and affection and is learning commands like sit and stay with encouragement.
As a puppy, I am required to go to training within 90 days of my adoption with a certified trainer.

Adoption Donations are $275 for an adult, $375 for puppies (a dog under one year of age), and $175 for a senior dog (based on the age of the dog). More "sought out breeds may have a higher adoption donation) Adoption donations are to be made via cash, or credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards. We do not accept checks for adoption fees.
Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption.
We typically have adoption events on Wednesdays 5-7pm, Fridays 6-8pm, and Saturdays 11am-3pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd. Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process.
Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization. We are run completely by volunteers, who also have full time jobs and families, so we appreciate your patience. Currently, the average timeframe for a response to your application is 3 days.
