My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Luke was transferred from another animal welfare organization.

Why Luke might be the one for you:
Luke has so many good things going for him. He is at a good age, past his puppy and teenage stuff. He acts like a trained dog as he seems to understands what is means to be a good dog and he does it. He is easy to leash and take on walks. He is a good walker. He is good about his house training. He has a good appetite. He comes forward wagging his tail, with soft eyes that are easy to read - he wants attention. He is good with people and good with other dogs. With his shiny black fur that is decorated with one perfect bright white mark on his chest, he is a good looking dog. Do you have a good home for a good dog? A good home for good Luke will have outside space for him to run and play because he is still youthful. A good home will have inside space for several dog beds around for when he is not on the sofa or bed next to you. Good dog Luke is waiting for his good person.

At SDHS:
Luke has been vaccinated, microchipped , spayed/neutered and is now ready for his good new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
