My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Reggie (A136954) is an 8-month-old large-sized terrier mix who weighed over 50 lbs at intake!

12/21/24 This sweet, blue-eyed boy is Reggie! Reggie was brought to the shelter because his previous owners thought he deserved more time than they could provide. Reggie is a young, energetic pup who was said to be shy at first around strangers but to warm up well if given time. Reggie already has a head start on training. He was said to be kennel trained and housebroken. He is still fine-tuning his potty training, so he still needs a regular schedule. His previous owners said that he will sit by the door once he knows which one leads outside. Reggie could still stand to learn some manners, as he has been known to jump on people and scratch, but, in general, he was said to mind well. He already knows the commands `sit` and `kennel,` but enrolling him in a basic obedience class with a certified trainer could help him reach his full potential! Reggie was said to get along well with other dogs, but he can be rough when playing with them. In contrast, he was said to adopt a more gentle play style with humans, and was said to do well around kids. Reggie is looking for a home without cats, small animals or livestock, as he was said to not do well with these types of animals. Please make sure that all introductions are done in a safe, slow, and controlled manner to ensure the best possible outcome. Reggie is probably also looking for a home that doesn't travel much, as he gets anxious in the car and can sometimes get carsick, especially on long car rides. He was also seen by our shelter veterinarian for entropian surgery, meaning his lower eyelashes were growing toward his eyeball and required surgery to correct it. He will need to come back to the shelter on 1/3/2025 to have these sutures removed. If you are interested in meeting this handsome young man, please give the shelter a call!December 21, 2024, 2:59 pm
