My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Addy is pure love, well mannered in the house, and genuinely a wonderful companion. Addy lives in a loving foster home where she’s treated like a member of the family while she waits for an adopter to pick her! Potty trained, crate trained, not destructive, loves car rides, and will wear necklaces proudly.

See her personality here: https://youtu.be/lN5MZNsrRwQ?si=AvxTGD5fUsp-2Szi

Her foster family can tell you all about her and FaceTime with you so that you can see her behavior and full personality! She is kid-friendly, great with dogs of all sizes, so social, funny and charming! Addy has never met a stranger, she’s food-motivated, eager to please and very obedient. She’s a hugger and a kisser. She moonlights as a comedian, with her many funny faces, her goofy gait, and her massive, infectious smile! SUCH a good girl. She is a pit bull, approximately 5 years young and 73 lbs. she seems to be in wonderful health and she is fully vetted.

Addy’s best trick is she will catch treats in her mouth pretty consistently- it’s real skill. she also knows how to sit and lay down on command. She listens to you when you tell her to do something, she wants to be a good girl.

She loves to lay on the couch all day long, and will sometimes randomly get the zoomies for a few minutes and run around in excitement. It makes her foster family laugh so hard. She is the BEST house hippopotamus there ever was.

She’s such a good, sweet girl, all about spreading love and happiness. She absolutely loves water. When we fill up the baby pool, she wants to stick her head in the water hose and play. Her absolute favorite thing is riding in the car, though. Addy’s favorite outing is a coffee shop date, she loves her pup cups! She also loves park dates that include playing ball, catching treats in the air, and meeting other hikers on the trail! She’s the BEST car rider!! She sleeps all night in her crate like a good girl and she’s potty trained and well behaved in the house. She has great house manners, and loves to snuggle, sit in your lap, or get belly rubs. Addy is such an affectionate and loving girl. We put a hat and tee shirt on her and she seemed to like them. She kept the hat on for a long time!

She is dog friendly and will play with her doggy friends for short periods of time but most of the time she is off doing her own thing or loving on any human around her. She would do best with other dogs that are moderately playful like her. Adelaide does so well with small dogs, and seems to prefer their company! She is currently living in a foster home with multiple small dogs and one large female.

From her foster mom: “She is the best snuggler… ever. She will completely lay on top of me when I’m on the couch. She has the cutest personality. She gets the zoomies and it’s hilarious! She only has one bad thing about her really…..she’s a counter surfer sometimes. But working on it! We love fostering Addy, she is the best girl!”

Addy is medium energy and would do great in a semi-active family with kids. She does great with kids, as long as the kids are used to big dogs!

We are willing to test Addy with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews:
https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.

Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.

The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.
While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!

Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
