Gypsy's story:
Gypsy was found as a stray in rural Georgia when she befriended a young girl in an apartment complex. She would come there and eat the food the girl left, but she couldn’t get her to come all the way to her. With the help of the shelter staff, they were finally able to catch her. While she was a stray, someone poured acid or something on her that gave her severe burns on her back. When she was caught, her back was raw from the burns. She has since been treated and is fully healed, but hair won't be able to grow on the scar on her back. Her Georgia fosters and rescue community invested several thousand dollars in vet bills and laser treatments for her to heal properly and help the scarring. She was also heartworm-positive when she was caught and has since completed the treatment.
She is the sweetest most precious girl there ever was. She is very friendly, has a great disposition, and clearly previously lived in a home since she has such good manners and is house trained. She has never had an accident in her foster home and is a perfect lady. Her Georgia fosters love her so much and would keep her, but they travel a lot so it won't work out, unfortunately. She is a staff favorite, they cannot say enough good things about her. She is so deserving of a loving home!
Gypsy has been through a lot, so much more than we can imagine, and we really would like for find her forever family! She deserves her time to relax and enjoy life!
GYPSY is currently in a high-kill shelter in Georgia and urgently needs our help! She needs an ADOPTER or a temporary FOSTER home so she can catch a ride with Mutt Life Dog Rescue of Wisconsin on Saturday, January 11th, 2025 to Cedarburg, Wisconsin. If nobody steps up for her, GYPSY will be left behind in the shelter, and we don't want her to miss this important chance for a better life. Let's come together to give her the future he deserves!
