My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Chrysanthemum! I was rescued from a backyard along with my four little kittens - Iris, Poppy, Marigold, and Petunia. Nobody knew where I came from, but neighbors speculated that I had been abandoned or dumped by my former owners. After a few months in my foster home, my kittens were placed for adoption and now I’m ready to find a loving home of my own! I’m very gentle, love to be pet, and above all, I love food! I can be a little slow to warm up, but I’m a very sweet and laidback kitty. I even did well in my foster home with other cats and dogs after a slow introduction.

More about this rescue

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
