Mia is a stunning young adult German Shepherd weighing 66 lbs, looking for her forever home. She’s a friendly, high-energy girl who loves attention and has been a delight to her caretakers during her time at the shelter. Mia is housetrained and has lived with a child in her previous home, where their interactions were described as friendly. Playful and fun-loving, Mia enjoys games like tug-of-war and chase. While she’s not the best at retrieving tennis balls, she still has a blast chasing after them. Mia is food-motivated and eager to learn, making her a great candidate for training that can help her channel her energy in positive ways. Mia is under-socialized and can be cautious around new dogs. While she seems interested in making friends, she will need a patient adopter dedicated to providing her with the time, care, and proper introductions to build her confidence. For this reason, we recommend a dog-to-dog introduction here at the shelter and that any future interactions with resident dogs be supervised until she feels more comfortable. This smart, sweet girl would thrive with someone who understands the needs of a young German Shepherd and is ready to invest in her training.
