My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cooper, the 1y old hound/cur mix! This bright young boy wants to be anywhere around people, and he loves to play fetch, tug-o-war, and sniff around outside. After he plays, he brings his toys to his mat one by one, comes to lick your hand in greeting, and curls up next to you to sleep! He is always on the watch for squirrel intruders and other dog friends to play with. While he is a bit excitable around cats, he is simply curious and may do well with them with training. Cooper also knows sit, down, and is learning kennel and leash manners in his foster home. Contact CAA today to schedule a meet and greet and see if Cooper is a good fit for you!

The process is quite simple! Please stop by and see for yourself. All animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to going home.

More about this shelter

We are a non-profit open intake shelter that serves all of East Baton Rouge parish. We strive to improve the lives of abandoned, unwanted and abused animals in our parish. We house approximately 400 animals at any given time. We take in 20-30 new animals a day. We are always in need of fosters both short and long term, donations, and volunteers.
