Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Adoption Application https://linktr.ee/ahacs

2.

Interview

Once we receive your completed application someone will call you to find out more about what you are looking for in a new pet.

3.

Meet the Pet

We have very minimal staff so to meet one or more of our adoptable pets you must schedule an appointment with Alamo Heights ACS staff member

4.

Approve Application

We want to help you find the pet that is the perfect fit for your family. We give you two weeks to foster any animal you are considering.

5.

Take the Pet Home

Keep in touch during your trial adoption so that we can give advice on how to handle any issues that may arise. Pics are our favorite!

Additional adoption info

If one of our adoptable animals has caught your eye please fill out our adoption application here: https://linktr.ee/ahacs
Once you have returned it to me we can schedule a time for you to meet your new best friend. If the meeting goes well you can take your new furry family member home the same day and start making memories right away! The first week you have the pet in your home is a trial period where we allow you and the pet to get to know each other. If for any reason the adoption is not working out you can bring the animal back and we will use the information you give us about how the animal behaved in your home to help us make a better match next time.

Go meet their pets

Because we are a small municipality we do not have our own animal control facility. We pay to have our animals boarded at multiple different vet offices and kennels. We also have wonderful foster families who house some of our animals in their homes while we work on finding them their forever families. Please contact me to set up an appointment to meet any of our animals. ACS@alamoheightstx.gov 210-832-2216
