Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Freckles, he is a calm and affectionate kitty with so much love to give out. He came in with his companion, Capulina, and they’d be thrilled to go to a new home together as its is not required, we highly recommend it. Freckles loves being pampered with pets and is always ready to show his sweet side. He`s a fan of treats and enjoys playing with toys, especially cat poles and laser pointers. Whether he`s lounging peacefully or engaging in playtime, Freckles is sure to bring warmth and joy to any home. His gentle and loving nature makes him the perfect companion.

More about this shelter
The South Suburban Humane Society is a 501(c )(3) organization that was started in 1970, serving the animal welfare needs of the entire south suburbs of Chicago. In the beginning, we handled all rescues, adoptions and provided foster care out of private homes. Since November 1973, our organization has been operating a 10,000 square foot open-door animal shelter in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
For over fifty years, our organization has helped tens of thousands of animals. We offer extensive outreach programs including humane education, and community outreach events. We also operate a resale shop located in Steger, Illinois that promotes our organization, our animals and provide much needed income to support our humane work.
The Mission of the South Suburban Humane Society is to protect and promote the well being of pets and their people in our community and beyond.
