My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 1 year
Weight: 3.6 kg

If you had come from the same situation as Bertoia, you would be a little mistrusting of new people, too. Bertoia came from an overcrowding situation, so she can be a little shy in new spaces and will need a calm, quiet, and patient family to call her own. In shelter, Bertoia is approaching for pets, but she`d feel a lot better if she could go home to a nice warm place of her own. Once she gets to know you, Bertoia will be happy to show you her affectionate, playful, and curious side! Maybe having another people-oriented cat in the home will help her see how amazing it is to be a pet! Give Bertoia the life she deserves by adopting her today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
