Meet Swansea, an adult dog with a heart full of love and a spirit as sweet as honey. He`s a gentle soul, always eager to offer a comforting presence. Swansea`s mellow demeanor makes him an excellent companion for those calm afternoons. He has a friendly nature that instantly wins over everyone he meets and his sweet and cuddly nature is sure to bring warmth into any home. Swansea weighs 57 pounds and is great with children, his easygoing personality making him a perfect family pet. His submissive nature ensures he`s always respectful and never overbearing. He might bark at other dogs so you could always bring yours to meet him. Since he was found as a stray, we don`t know if he is house trained but he walks well on a leash. Swansea deserves a loving family who will appreciate his gentle spirit and friendly demeanor. Pet Adoption Fees
CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

A second dog or puppy, adopted within 30 days of the first adoption receives a $20 discount.

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.
CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
