My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

* MIA IS NOT AT UPAWS *

Mia is a stunning longhaired cat with a loving, playful, and friendly personality. She adores being close to her people, whether it’s curling up on your lap, snoozing at the foot of your bed, or even snuggling under the covers with you. With her luxurious coat and endearing behavior, she resembles a Siberian, though her exact breed is unknown.

Mia`s playful nature makes her a joy to be around, but she would thrive as the only cat in her new home. While she has lived with dogs before, she does best with calm, larger dogs rather than small, high-energy ones. Her ideal home is one where she can relax, be adored, and enjoy all the love her heart desires.

Mia is front-paw declawed (before her current family adopted her), so she’ll need to remain an indoor-only kitty. Her current family is heartbroken to rehome her but wants her to live her best, happiest life in a situation where she feels fully comfortable.

If you’re looking for a loyal, cuddly, and affectionate companion, Mia could be the perfect fit!

More about this shelter

We are a local non-profit organization run and staffed by your neighbors. We make decisions on caring for homeless, unwanted, abandoned and abused domestic animals based on what we believe is best for them. We have no affiliation with any larger group and we receive no funding from any larger group that might influence our decisions or actions.

We advocate only for the animals in our care to help them find their forever home with you.

UPAWS does not receive operating funds from any governmental agency. We rely on donations from our neighbors and friends to make our efforts possible. We save consistently 98% of the animals who come to us – which is an award-winning success story. We want to educate everyone on proper animal care so there soon won’t be the three percent who come to us too sick or wounded to be saved. It’s your support that makes this dream possible.
