My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Pit Bull Mix
Age: 3.5 years old
Likes: Belly rubs, cozy laps, playing with toys, and snuggling with her favorite people
Dislikes: Loud noises, being left alone, and feeling nervous in new situations

Meet Della, a sweet and affectionate 3.5-year-old pit bull mix who is ready to find her forever home. Della was surrendered by her previous owners because they could no longer care for her, and although she’s understandably a little nervous in new environments, her loving and loyal nature shines through once she feels comfortable.

Della is a playful girl who loves to engage with other dogs and is great with small children—her gentle nature makes her an ideal companion for a family setting. She knows basic commands like sit and shake, and she’s always eager to show you her sweet, lapdog side. While she may be a bit shy and fearful in unfamiliar situations, with the right patience and love, Della opens up and reveals her affectionate, cuddly personality.

Della is looking for a home where she can feel secure, loved, and part of the family. She thrives in a calm environment and would do best with someone who can provide the reassurance and attention she needs to build confidence. If you’re looking for a dog who will snuggle up beside you, offer gentle affection, and bring sweetness into your life, Della is the perfect match!

The Humane Society is not a department of city or county government. The city and county own the shelter building. The Humane Society receives funds from city and county governments to operate the shelter. This funding is used to pay for management/employee salaries, utility bills, cleaning supplies/chemicals, euthanasia solution, cat litter, fuel for rescue vehicles and building repairs/maintenance. Humane Society DONATIONS are used to pay for medical care of sick and injured animals, animal cages, incidental supplies such as food/water bowls, dog/cat treats, canned cat/dog food, dog/cat toys, supplies for fund raisers and education/outreach programs. Hill's Pet Products donates dog, cat, kitten and puppy food. The Humane Society's mission is to provide a clean comfortable shelter for homeless, abused, lost and impounded animals of our community; to place as many of these animals as possible in loving and responsible homes and humanely euthanize those not adopted; to investigate complaints of animal abuse/neglect; and to educate the public about responsible care of companion animals, ESPECIALLY SPAY/NEUTER!
