My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Boots was brought in by her previous owner on December 17, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Step right up, folks, and meet Boots, the dignified kitten who moonlights as a professional hide-and-seek champion! Boots is searching for a home where her hobbies-treat sampling, string chasing, and throne-perching-can be properly celebrated. When Boots moves in, she requests her own VIP lounge (read: an extended confinement area) to decompress and adjust at her own regal pace. She's not a fan of the "forced snuggle agenda," so patience and gentleness are key. Earn her favor with the finest treats and a solid wand-toy workout, and soon she'll be batting her way into your heart. Boots might be okay with another feline companion, but only after some serious diplomatic negotiations (read: time to settle and adjust). Young children, however, are not invited to the royal court-this queen prefers her admirers to be calm, respectful, and mature. So, pack your finest cat carrier, roll out the red carpet, and prepare to welcome the enigmatic Boots into your life. She's perfectly poised to bring a little mystery, charm, and a lot of sass to her new kingdom.

Shy/Fearful Cat:  Boots requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
