Ivan is a big-hearted, goofy boy who approaches life with a wagging tail and a curious nose. Despite his size, he surprises everyone with his dainty demeanor! Ivan loves to explore the world at his own pace, sniffing every corner and taking in the sights.
This independent adventurer has a soft spot for treats and affection, occasionally breaking from his explorations to enjoy a good pet and show off his “sit” skills. He’s sweet, strong, and incredibly resilient. After being abandoned in a backyard for over a month, Ivan’s story speaks to his remarkable spirit. Thanks to kind neighbors who ensured he had food and water, Ivan made his way to the shelter and hasn’t stopped wagging since.
Ivan is ready to turn the page to a brighter chapter in a loving forever home. Could you be the one to make this gentle giant’s dreams come true?

Behavioral notes:
Per volunteer on 12/21: Gentle giant Ivan approaches life with a friendly tail wag. This is a big dog but once he got outside, he took the smallest little daintiest poop so he might need some food. He was very interested in sniffing around outside and exploring with his nose. He did come over for some pets and treats with a sit but mainly liked to be independently exploring on his own.
Per staff on 12/21: Ivan was abandoned in backyard of empty house for over 1 month. Neighbors were putting water out and tossing food into yard
He was easy to leash and transport to shelter, is goofy and sweet, very strong, and knows sit.
ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details.
