My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** Please note that we are no longer taking applications for Sparky. ***

Hello! I’m Sparky, a 6-year-old Shih Tzu/Maltese mix weighing in at 12 lbs. I was born on January 29, 2019, and I’m here to bring joy, love, and tons of cuddles into your life. I have a fluffy, medium-length coat that’s perfect for petting, and floppy ears that make me even cuter!

I’m a very affectionate dog – I love snuggling up with people and showing them how much I care. I’ve been in homes with young kids, and I was great with them! I’m obedient, playful, and always ready for a good time. I love squeaky toys, and I’m also protective of my people... I think I'm a guard dog!

I was surrendered by my previous owner because their apartment wouldn’t allow dogs, but now I’m looking for a new home where I can be loved and spoiled. I’m friendly, playful, and always ready to be your best friend. Let’s hang out, have fun, and be inseparable!

Additional adoption info

The process to adopt/foster dogs and cats is different. Please speak to the volunteer assisting you in the adoption process to confirm details about the process.

Go meet their pets

We hold adoption events every weekend in the DC/Baltimore Metro Area and also schedule private meet and greets once a potential adopter/foster has applied for a specific dog or cat.
