Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
This handsome hunk joins us from AHS-Newark Branch. Ace was found as a stray and quickly adopted after just 3 weeks in the shelter. Unfortunately, he was returned 2 weeks later under less-than-ideal circumstances. 💔
It’s so important to give dogs time to decompress and set up rules and boundaries. Dogs thrive on leadership and positive guidance—especially strong power breeds like Ace. Sadly, he was failed by a human, but the staff and volunteers believed in him and asked for our help. 🐾💪
Our VP Jeff met Ace and instantly knew we had to step in and give this guy a second chance. After being evaluated twice at the shelter, Ace amazed everyone with his great behavior. 🐕✨
Ace is about 3 years old and very cool. 😎 He LOVES toys, especially tug, but will need to learn an “off” button and a strong “out” command. He tested well with a female dog but will need slow intros and a good energy match.
Ace had a blast on his freedom ride with Jeff and enjoyed his spa day (aka bath 🛁)! Huge thanks to Jeff, Sheila, and Sydney for getting him settled in. 🙏 Thank you to AHS staff and volunteers for believing in him.
He’s currently in boarding, working on commands, leash manners, and engaged play with our awesome volunteers. 🐕🦺 He’ll visit our vet next week and needs a foster or foster-to-adopt home with someone experienced with bully breeds. 🏡✨
🚨 Requirements:
✅ Older teen approved
❌ No kitties
🦴 Bully breed experience preferred

More about this rescue
Pitties and Pals Rescue, Inc. is (a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit). Our mission is to rescue dogs and educate the public. Although our main focus is the bully breed, we are committed to all dogs in need. We believe RESCUE involves a multitude of approaches that includes liberating dogs from at risk situations, whether in a shelter or with an owner in need of assistance. While adoption is always the ultimate goal, we believe transitioning into foster care allows for socialization and training that are key components to a successful placement.
Pitties and Pals volunteers are also committed to changing the negative public perception of the Bully Breed. As such, we welcome opportunities to heighten awareness and enhance education in a public forum through our personal stories and positive experiences.
