My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a new best buddy with good cattitude? Jasper is your guy. He’s a great companion and a good conversationalist. He came to us to foster as a very grumpy man, but you would be too if you had serious tooth problems and mouth sores. He has a lovely toothless smile now and you wouldn’t know it until he yawns. After a lot of tlc and learning to eat again without pain, he went from a scrawny 8 lbs. on his strong frame to 13 lbs. and filled back out. It was a journey to see him find joy in eating again, and he never leaves a bit in his dish! Tube treats are the way to his heart and he eats a variety of wet foods. And he’s eating dry kibble now too.
Jasper’s a very sweet boy who talks to you when he wants attention. It could be food, play time or a short hold and pet. He has a long hang time for napping in your lap or on your chest and gives good leg rubs when you’ve been away too long. He’s definitely a people person cat and is very confident in his surroundings. He especially likes warm clothes out of the dryer and velvet Christmas tree skirts.
He’s very happy observing the birds and squirrels and he’s very accepting of our 3 other cats. Two of our girl cats have warmed up to his presence and he doesn’t annoy them so everyone lives peacefully together. He full on wrestles with our younger 1 year old kitty so he could be a good match with another accepting kitty, but doesn’t mind the singular devoted attention of a human or two.
This lovely man would be a wonderful buddy to an experienced owner looking for an interactive and elegant gentleman . Please send an email to artnmary@rochester.rr.com if interested in adoption for Jasper.

More about this shelter

Mission:
Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, works together with our community better the lives of animals through justice, prevention, and life-saving care.

Vision: A just and compassionate world for all animals.

Lollypop Farm is not your typical animal welfare organization. We don’t classify ourselves as merely a shelter, simply taking in and rehoming pets. Rather, we are your partner. We’ll work with you to build a just and compassionate world for all animals–to save animals from abuse and suffering, to find a resource to keep your pet, to guide you in adopting a new pet, to make the tough decision to say goodbye to your family friend or to share information on how to help animals in your daily life.
