My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Here’s a rare gem for you- Emerald!

Emerald came to TCR from another rescuer in dire need of placement for him and his 6 “siblings” who were living outside. At the time, the weather was about to get colder and some of the kittens in the group were showing signs of a nasty upper respiratory infection. Most of the kittens were underweight and we feared they wouldn’t make it outside much longer.

Emerald has shown a sweet and friendly personality from the get go! While he had to be treated for a bad eye infection and ulcer, which left him with a scar on his right eye, he never let all the medication administration dampen his spirits! Emerald can be slightly reserved, but is quick to warm up to new people. He absolutely loves attention and pets and will even purr loudly when placed in your lap. Emerald loves to play, especially string toys, but really any toy will do for him! He loves romping around with all of his foster siblings and then settling down for a nice snooze. He is a lover for sure and can’t wait to find his person to channel all that love to!

Emerald would do best in a home with another friendly and playful kitty, since he is young and used to having many friends to play with. We believe he could live with children and probably even dogs as well, with proper intros. Emerald would love to go to a home with one of his various foster siblings, but it isn’t a requirement as long as his new home has that special buddy waiting for him!

Emerald is approximately 8 months old, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, FIV/FELV tested negative, dewormed, flea treated, & treated for possible ear mites and an ear infection. If you think gem is a rarity you’d like to love, apply for him today!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
