My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Monroe is a sweet, soulful 2ish year old female mixed breed who weighs 53 lbs. We think she looks like she has some retriever, hound and who knows what else. She is 100% lovable!

Monroe came out to the play yard today and oh my goodness what a love. She was so happy to be outside when it wasnt raining! Monroe has super long legs and loves to run fast. She immediately did zoomies and then came over to our volunteers for some lovin. She is not afraid of strangers and seems ok with other dogs.

She's very affectionate but she's a tad on the jumpy side. Monroe is such a love and responds well to training. She loves to play fetch with toys but hasnt caught on to the 'retrieve' part yet. We think she would do great in a home with a yard.

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.
