My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

That precious face belongs to none other than Honey "Babette" Lovebug! “Perfect” is the word her foster family uses to describe her demeanor- mellow and calm, with a playful, adventurous side that peeks out when the time is right. Sweet Honey loves cats, dogs, sunshine and snuggles. She’s a perfect work-from-home companion and a perfect adventure-buddy.

Honey, or Babette, as her foster family lovingly refers to her, is around 2 years old, and 38 perfectly portable pounds. We think she's a husky mix of some sort given her pointy ears, double coat, and light eyes. Honey is a rescue, so these are simply our best educated guesses.

Fall in love with Honey here: https://youtu.be/xMs1ZfsX-Ss?feature=shared

This loving little lady is currently living the good life in an adoring foster home. Her foster family reports that she is house trained and crate trained, a very well-behaved girl with wonderful manners. Honey has an independence to her that makes her a wonderful work-from-home companion. She keeps her foster parents company as they do housework. Her foster dad reports that she’s even respectful of their garden, making sure to keep her distance from their plants.

With her foster family, Honey loves to go on little adventures! She enjoys tandem walks around the neighborhood with her foster siblings, and trips to Petco to pick out new toys. She’s an easy car-rider, easy on leash, and friendly with humans, making her a perfect little go-anywhere adventure buddy.

Honey is the perfect match for a multi-pet household. She has shown that she's most comfortable with her feline foster siblings, and is incredibly respectful of their cues. With her canine siblings, Honey prefers a slow approach. She would be happiest in a home with other dogs who understand her relaxed and dignified nature. With her foster siblings, Honey shares toys, treats and affection well. We believe she could thrive in a pet-lover’s home. Knowing how snuggly and people oriented Honey is, we believe she could also thrive as an only-child.

Honey does not need daily walks to be happy, making her the perfect companion for a family that has slowed down a bit, or prefers a more homebody lifestyle. She adores her outside time though, and would love a yard to explore and romp around in.

One thing that Honey really loves is dinnertime! Sometimes she will do this adorable dance when she knows it's time to eat!! Having a pup that is food motivated, like she is, makes any further training much more enjoyable and rewarding. She's a smart girl who will enjoy the mental exercise of learning new tricks and good behavior!

Honey is described as situationally vocal, and will alert you to vistors, mailman, delivery drivers, etc, making her a great watch dog! She is, however, a "hooter" (husky talk?) and likes to talk to you when she is excited/happy. So cute!!

This sweet girl is ready to meet her forever family. Honey Babette is looking for a quieter home where she can soak up the snuggles and love of the person or family that she can call her very own. She would be a good buddy to a home with cats, other mellow, easy going dogs, or as your one and only! While we have not seen Honey with kids just yet, we believe she would be well-suited for the family dog lifestyle. We are happy to test her with whatever you need to ensure she's the perfect fit! We can make most anything happen, just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.

Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.

The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!

Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
