My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oscar came into our care after his owner died suddenly, leaving five Beagles needing homes. He is three years old and weighs 37 lbs. He was used as a hunting dog, but we think he would love to be a family pet. He had a bath when he arrived in Medfield and was so good about it. He came in with Felix, and the two get along great and love to run around together. We think he has Basset Hound in his mix since he is bigger than your average Beagle and has longer ears. He was neutered and updated on his vet care on 12/26/24, and is ready for a home. He is a little grabby when it comes to treats so would not be a good fit for a home with young kids.

If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our dog adoption application here: http://medfieldshelter.com/adopt. Our adoption fee for dogs ages 7 months to 7 years is $450. Dogs 8 years and up are $250. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash.

With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to commit to both.

All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have two employees. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.
