Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Oscar came into our care after his owner died suddenly, leaving five Beagles needing homes. We were told he is three years old but we will verify that when he sees our vet. He was used as a hunting dog, but we think he would love to be a family pet. He had a bath when he arrived in Medfield and was so good about it. He came in with Felix, and the two get along great and love to run around together. He may have some Basset Hound in his mix since he is bigger than your average Beagle and has longer ears. He will be neutered and updated on his vet care after Christmas and will be ready for a new home. He is a little grabby when it comes to treats so would not be a good fit for a home with young kids.
If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our dog adoption application here: http://medfieldshelter.com/adopt. Our adoption fee for dogs ages 7 months to 7 years is $450. Dogs 8 years and up are $250. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash.
With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have two employees. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.

More about this shelter
The Medfield Animal Shelter's mission is to rescue lost or abandoned animals and provide for their comfort and safety until they are reunited with their owners or placed in new homes. We are a no-kill shelter, which means no pet will ever be euthanized because it has run out of time to find a home. We are committed to ending the overpopulation of pets that results in an estimated 5 million companion pets being euthanized at shelters in the U.S. every year, therefore all cats, rabbits and dogs adopted from us are spayed and neutered prior to adoption. We also sponsor a low cost spay/neuter clinic for cats at our shelter once a month.
