My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I'm Ember. I may be small, but my heart is huge. I love to play and explore, my curiosity knows no bounds. I'm quite the smarty-pants too, figuring out puzzles and games with ease. I'm also gentle as a breeze, careful not to scratch or bite during playtime. I love making new friends, and I'm always the first to greet newcomers with a friendly purr. My sweetness is like a warm cup of cocoa on a chilly day, comforting and delightful. I'm a loyal companion, always there to lend a comforting purr or a playful paw. I promise to bring joy, laughter, and lots of love to your home. So, why should you adopt me? Because I'm not just a cat, I'm a friend, a confidante, a source of endless entertainment and unconditional love. I promise, you won't regret it.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
