My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Pia! As a mature cat, I've learned the ropes of life. I was a mommy cat once, so I know how to take care of others. I'm loyal, always there for you when you need me. Playful, too! I'll chase a laser pointer all day if you let me. I'm smart, quickly figuring out where you hide my toys. Gentle and friendly, I'll nuzzle against you while you read or watch TV. Sweet as honey, I'll fill your life with love and joy. Adopting me, you won't just get a pet, you'll gain a companion who'll make every day brighter.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
