Tabasco is a handsome male kitten who was brought to the HSOV on July 28, 2024 by a Good Samaritan who found him on Short Street in Marietta Ohio along with his mother (Pepperoncini) and his two siblings (Habanero and Jalapeno). Tabasco and his siblings were 10-week old at that time.
Tabasco has a brown tabby short smooth coat, a long ringed tail, and an adorable kitten face with golden eyes, a brown velvet nose, a splash of white on his muzzle, and long white whiskers.
Tabasco and his siblings (and their mother Pepperoncini) were frightened kitties when they entered our shelter. They began working on their social skills with the loving help from our compassionate HSOV feline kennel techs. Tabasco, Habanero and Jalapeno shared a cage for most of their kittenhood, and they depended upon each other for a sense of comfort/security and playtime.
Tabasco was given vaccinations and wormer on July 28, 2024. He was given booster vaccines on August 13th and weighed 2.5 lbs that day.
Tabasco was neutered on October 22, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 4.9 lbs that day.
Tabasco and his siblings made tremendous progress on their social skills and were eventually moved to a large tower in the lobby of our shelter. His brother (Habanero) was adopted on October 2nd, and his sister Jalapeno was adopted on December 1st.
Tabasco was very lonely without his best friends, so another HSOV kitty (Tiger) who was approximately the same size/age as Tabasco was placed with him for companionship .. And they were very compatible. Tiger was spayed on December 17th and was adopted the following day, so Tabasco is once again "The Lone Ranger".
These updated photos of Tabasco were taken on December 17, 2024 when HSOV Lead Feline Kennel Tech Lauryn Hamilton accompanied him in our 'studio' for his big boy pictures. It was touching to see how Tabasco 'melted' into Lauryn's arms with complete trust.
Tabasco was a little out of his comfort zone but we kept reassuring him with gentle petting and soft conversation that these new pictures might well be his "PASSPORT PHOTOS" if a special someone saw them and offered him a forever home and would give him the time to acclimate on his own schedule .. And even better if there was another accepting kitty friend who would welcome him with open paws.
Tabasco didn't step on the scales after his photo session, but he appears to have gained several pounds since his neuter surgery. So there is even more of him to love now.
