Meet Zena, ACCT's very own pitt-o-potamus! Zena is a calm and super well behaved girl, who loves spending time in the arms of her people. Zena was found as a stray dog in Philly and described by her finder as friendly. She is now at ACCT and making friends with any staff and volunteer pal she can find!
Zena is now available for adoption and foster at ACCT Philly. You can meet her any day from 10am-6pm. Interested fosters should email foster@acctphilly.org.

Behavior:
Per Volunteer 12/22/24: She was in a standalone crate in the back but was easy to leash and super easy walking! She’s a little chunky potato and super sweet!! On leash just some minimal pulling, she’s very wiggly and has loose body language. She knows sit and takes treats very nicely. Super affectionate- loves leaning into you and taking pets all over. Hard barked at another dog that walked by that was snarling at her. Had a bloody stool but otherwise seemed healthy and energetic . No issues returning to kennel!
Per Volunteer 12/21/24: BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: Zena
KNOWN HISTORY:
Stray
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Zena was in a crate and was alert barking but topped when she saw the handler and looked up with neutral eyes. She was patient with the leash and came out perfectly.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally
HANDLING:
In the room, Zena was super social and ran around going back and forth between sitting down relaxing, running around and laying next to the handlers. She was pretty uninterested in us but allowed all approaches and all handling. She was very tolerant and was loose and wiggly. She showed no interest in chasing us or running around unless it was on her terms and is super laid back and reserved.
PLAY:
Engaged in play – lost interest quickly
TOYS:
Ran after a ball for a couple seconds before walking away and sitting back down
COLOR LEVEL & ANY RECOMMENDATIONS:
Gold
