My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

(DOB 11/15/2019) Sweet Little Suzy has a whole lot of love to give!  This little girl may be small in size, but big in heart! Suzy is all about cuddles, snuggles, and giving lots of kisses! She is very loving. She’s got the perfect mix of being good with other dogs and people, so you’ll never have to worry about her making friends, because she is a social butterfly.  Although she is good with other dogs, she is more comfortable around smaller dogs so no big dogs for her.

But here’s the best part: Suzy has an underbite that makes it look like she’s smiling all the time! She’s ready to jump in your lap and give a big kiss that’ll melt your heart. This pint-sized bundle of love is the perfect ride-along sweetheart for any adventure because she travels well in the car.

She’s well-mannered and responds well to commands.  She has not had any accidents in her foster home and goes potty in a fenced yard.  She is working on pottying and walking on a leash. Suzy can be quite vocal so no apartments or townhomes for her.

Looking for a dog who’s as sweet as she is adorable? Suzy is ready to bring all the love, snuggles, and happiness you could ever need. Come meet this little darling—you won’t be able to resist her big heart and loving mannerisms!

As part of Suzy’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Suzy, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application at https://pawsforlifenc.org. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home.

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. The adoption fee is $325 for dogs under 6 months, $300 for 6 months and older. The adoption fee is $125 for kittens under 1 year ($225 for 2 kittens), $85 for cats 1 year and older. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life NC pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. Kittens under 6 months will require a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
