Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi there, I’m River, a 3-year-old, 65-pound pit bull mix with a unique look. I have one blue eye and one brown eye, and a mostly white coat with a black splat near my tail. I’m a sweet and loving girl who likes to cuddle and give kisses. I am also a great companion for hiking and other adventures. I’m crate and house trained, but I need some help with leash training as I tend to pull a bit. I don’t do well with other dogs, but I am good with cats. As a matter of fact, my best friend is a cat, and we like to snuggle throughout the day.
I love every person I meet! I’m protective of my people. I have separation anxiety and don’t like to be crated when people are home. But once my people leave the home, I calm down and peacefully sleep in my crate. I’m looking for a patient and caring family who can give me the attention and affection I deserve. I’m a big goofball who will make you laugh and smile.
I’m spayed, vaccinated, and on heartworm treatment. I will continue to receive heartworm prevention from my rescue until I test negative. I am being fostered in Greensboro, North Carolina but can be transported to other states for the right home. If you’re looking for a loyal and adorable companion, I’m the one for you! Please fill out an application so my rescue can see if we are a match!

Operation Save A Shelter Dog is a foster based, IRS-recognized 501c(3) rescue whose mission is to work with shelters on the East Coast by saving dogs at high risk of euthanasia or that have little hope of adoption in their current condition.
