Meet Millie! Millie is about 2 years old and 50 pounds. Millie and her 11 puppies made their way to North Carolina from Louisiana in search of their forever homes. Millie is a happy-go-lucky gal who adapts to whatever situation she is in!
Millie LOVES to play outside with the other dogs in her foster home, and she loves a good stuffed animal to play with (she has yet to destuff her stuffies too!)! Although Millie is a young and active girl, she also loves a good couch nap - but she will never turn down the opportunity to run and play. For the most part, Millie is quiet at home, but she is vocal when wrestling with her canine friends and she enjoys narrating the situation when meeting new people! Millie loves to play with both dogs & cats - she does not discriminate when it comes to making friends! Millie is an affectionate girl, who soaks up any attention from any species, but she is great at entertaining herself when everyone else is busy.
Millie has done great walking on a leash around her foster home's yard, but she must be walked on a harness because she can wiggle her way out of a collar faster than you can blink! In public, Millie can be a little loud on her leash, but she is truly just narrating the situation, we have yet to encounter a dog or person that Millie does not like. Millie also enjoys pancaking her body underneath any gaps in fences, so if you have a fenced-in yard please be aware of any trouble spots that may need to be addressed before allowing her to go out alone. Other than these issues, Millie has been a wonderful foster pup. She does not try to bolt out of opened doors, she is fully potty trained, she shares toys, and is genuinely just happy to be wherever you are. Millie has not shown any destructive behaviors indoors & she doesn't make a peep when crated. While she enjoys calm outings to grab ice cream or go on a wooded walk, Millie is just as content to stay home and be your couch potato, watch dog, and best friend!

♥ The first step is to fill out our adoption application on our website at www.pawfectmatch.org under Adoption Information.
♥ Once we receive your application, the second step will be for our volunteers to check your vet reference and talk with your personal references.
♥ The third step, if your application is approved, is for our volunteers to contact you about scheduling a home check. This is not to see what kind of house you live in or how clean or dirty it is. It is simply to see if the yard size, fencing, etc is compatible with your dog of interest. It also allows other animals in your household as well as children to meet your potential new dog to see if everyone will get along and to make sure this is truly a "pawfect" match!
♥ After all three of these steps are completed, the final step is to sign the adoption contract and make the adoption donation fee of $300.00. This may seem high, but it is actually a bargain! Your new pet will be up to date on the necessary vaccinations required by the age of the dog at time of adoption, spayed or neutered, on heartworm preventative and flea and tick meds, micro-chipped, groomed, and well on his or her way with basic obedience and house training. All of our dogs will be adopted out with a collar and leash, and a PMR tag.

More about this rescue
We are an all volunteer rescue organization devoted to saving dogs from shelters, puppy mills, abusive situations and abondonment in North Carolina. Our members foster, transport and help the rescue efforts with their individual skills, experience, knowledge and expertise, and most importantly, their love of dogs.
At Pawfect Match Rescue we believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance regardless of their breed or age.
We take a different approach to rescue. We don’t try to save the masses; we just save ONE at a time and make them the best dog they can be by the time they find their forever homes.
By that we mean that we take them into our homes where they live amongst us and our pets and are treated as one of the family, not as a foster dog. We accomplish this by limiting our fosters to one or two per household.
Besides the basics of crate training and house training, we teach them basic obedience, we groom them, feed them a high quality dog food, and last but not least, we shower them with LOVE and attention that hopefully teaches them to trust again and realize that life really IS good..
We’ll never be able to save them all, no matter how many we try to pull and foster. So we believe that the one at a time approach with the extra TLC allows us to really KNOW the dogs and be able to match them more precisely with their new families.
This ends up being a win- win situation for all involved.
Pawfect Match is all volunteer and relys soley on adoption donation fees and public support. Most times our adoption donations do not cover our medical expenses.
