My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hwani, a 4-month-old mixed breed pup with a striking tri-colour coat! Yeni and Hwani are currently staying together, it is ideal if they go to the same home.

Weighing in at just under 5kg, Hwani was found wandering with his mother, without a collar or leash. This little guy has a shy side but warms up quickly—especially if you’ve got treats. Once he feels comfortable, he’ll let you pet him and might even roll over to show you his belly.

Hwani hasn’t had the chance to meet kids under 13 yet, but he’s learning to be brave in new situations. He can be picked up with ease, and while he’s cautious around dogs bigger than himself, he’s curious enough to start following them once comfortable. With dogs his own size or smaller, Hwani is friendly and playful, though he prefers calmer companions who won’t overwhelm him. If another dog gets too rowdy or tries to pick a fight, he’s more likely to avoid them.

Currently living with a cat, Hwani is proving to be a well-mannered housemate. He has a moderate energy level, enjoying outdoor adventures and romping around with his siblings. After a good play session or walk, he’s content to settle down for a snooze or keep busy playing with his sister.

On walks, Hwani might pull on the leash a little, but he listens well and sticks close to his person. He doesn’t guard his food or treats. He’s also a champ in the car—secure him with a doggy seatbelt, and he’ll happily sit back and enjoy the ride without any whining, drooling, or overexcitement.

Hwani is both indoor and outdoor potty-trained, so he’s flexible with his routine. And when it’s time for a crate, he settles in quietly and rests like a pro. With his sweet nature and gentle spirit, Hwani is sure to bring a lot of love and joy to a family ready to help him grow into his full potential!

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.
