My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing the amazing, the magical, the one and only Roxy!

Our beautiful senior poodle mix, Roxie is now officially ready for adoption. She would love to start 2025 in her FORVER home.

Roxy is 10 years old and approximately 24 pounds of sweetness. Roxy is a social dog who likes everyone she meets. She is good with big and small dogs and BONUS, Roxy is a fan of cats.

Roxy is excellent in the car. She enjoys joining her foster parents on road trips to Clearlake so if you like to travel, Roxy just might be the perfect co-pilot.

Roxy loves to spend her winter days on a soft fuzzy blanket. She also enjoys time in the yard. You weed; she supervises. And leisurely walks around the neighborhood are a must.

Roxy is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She had a dental on 12/19/2024. No yucky dog breath there!

Northern CA adoption only. Roxy is fostered in Neward, CA. Meet-and-greets will be at that location.

Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. To recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for ROXY is $300.

If you want to adopt ROXY, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will contact you. Adoptions are local, and confined to the SF Bay Area.

Additional adoption info

The Grateful Dogs Rescue adoption procedure is designed to find a good match between the dog and adopter. Our goal is a happy foster to forever transition. The adoption procedure includes an application, interview, home check, and an adoption donation. The adoption donation helps to cover spay/neuter, shots and other medical care given before the dog is made available for adoption.

More about this rescue

Grateful Dogs Rescue was founded in 1990; its mission is to rescue dogs not made available for adoption at San Francisco Animal Care and Control, and other local shelters, through no fault of their own. Rather than letting these dogs be euthanized, Grateful Dogs saves as many as possible by fostering these dogs in a loving home until a forever loving home is found.

Grateful Dogs Rescue is always in need of new foster homes!  You can make a difference by fostering. The number of dogs we can save is dependent on having foster parents to care for them until they find their forever homes. All of our dogs are in foster care.
