My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I’m Toby, a sweet and curious beagle boy looking for his forever home! I was rescued by Beagle Freedom Project from an animal testing laboratory... did you know that animal testing involves experimentation on dogs like me? My life got off to a ruff start, but now that I’m free, I’m discovering what it’s like to be a happy, carefree pup—and I can’t wait to find a family who will help me continue that journey! I absolutely adore other dogs, so I need to have at least one furry friend in my new home. They make me feel safe, and I love having a buddy to play with and snuggle. I’m hoping to find a home where I can be part of a pup pack that loves me as much as I love them! While I’m working on gaining confidence in my new life, I’m still a very curious pup who needs lots of supervision. Since I’m still learning the ropes, I might try to chew on things that aren’t good for me (like socks, shoes, or anything else I can find!), and that could lead to serious problems like bowel obstructions. So, I’ll need a patient family who can keep an eye on me and help me stay safe while I explore my new world. I may be a little unsure of things right now, but with the right family—especially one with other dogs to help me feel at ease—I know I’ll thrive! If you’re looking for a loving, sweet boy who’s eager to learn and give tons of cuddles, I’m your guy. Could you be the one to give me the forever home I’ve always dreamed of? I can’t wait to meet you!

I would prefer a home that has: another friendly dog, adults-only or older children (I'm gentle enough to be around kids of all ages, but I feel safer around children that are older because they're more predictable!)

My location: LOS ANGELES, CA

Pick Up: I require pick up from the above mentioned location on DECEMBER 29th!

*Please note that third-party sites like PetFinder or Adopt-a-Pet may sometimes list multiple locations for the same animal. My correct and current location is the one listed directly above!*

Additional adoption info

ABOUT OUR ADOPTION PROCESS: Standardly, Beagle Freedom Project does not facilitate animal meet and greets. Instead, we begin all BFP adoptions with a trial-period; this is called ‘fostering-to-adopt’. At BFP, we believe that the best way for an adopter to be certain that an animal is their perfect match is by giving them an opportunity to truly know each other before finalizing an adoption. As BFP animals come from such traumatic pasts, they can often be shy upon a first meeting. Foster-to-adopt trials allow these special animals an opportunity to decompress and show their authentic personality before an official adoption decision is made.
