My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is a courtesy post. Please do not contact Heart of the Foothills for information. Contact information is provided below.

Macy is a 7-year-old spayed female German Shepherd with papers. She is great with all people and kids (loved the FedEx man!) She loves to be around people. Macy is good with other dogs unless they seem aggressive toward her family or to her dog friends. She is protective of other dogs in her house. She chases cats, however, so a home without cats is preferable! She walks well on a leash.

Macy is scared of storms and needs someone who is home more than her owners are able to. She needs someone to spend more time with her.

Additional adoption info

Everyone that adopts must first fill out an application and get approved by our adoption team. We allow people to meet our animals to make sure it is the right fit along with letting their animals meet our animals as well as long as that animal meets the vetting criteria.

More about this rescue

We are a non-profit and no-kill shelter in Rutherford North Carolina. We pull animals from animal control and take in animals from the community. We make sure everyone is healthy, up to date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and put on something for fleas, ticks and heartworm prevention. We then place them up for adoption making sure they go into great homes.
