Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes.

We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you!

Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes.

Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site.

Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day.

A couple of things you should know:

  • We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email.
  • Adoption fees vary based on breed.
  • All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed).
  • We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process begins with you visiting our website, http://fur-everpaws.com and finding your new forever friend there. Then, simply fill out an application on our website and one of our staff (depending on the dogs location) will contact you and go over your application with you.

Then, we'll set up an appointment for you to come by and visit with the dog and, if all goes well, we'll complete the process and you can take your new little buddy home.

Everything you need to know can be found on our website, including adoption fees, requirements, information on pet insurance, etc. as well as other informative information.

Each dogs listing here includes a link to our adoptable dogs on our website where you can begin the process.

We can not unfortunately hold dogs for any reason, so if you see one you're interested in it's best to submit an application right away. Adoption Fees vary per dog, age, etc.

More about this rescue

We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed and permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and cost of bringing a dog into their homes and lives.

Animals in our care receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes.

We strive to work with area shelters and other rescue and Humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for the homeless dogs.
