Kassie is a 1 year old hound/lab mix. She is spayed and heartworm negative. She is very snuggly with her people, but can be protective of them. She is an alpha dog and is great with other dogs that are not alpha personalities. She loves her people. She loves nothing more than to sleep in bed and cuddle with her person. She loves to sit in your lap, but weighs about 40 pounds. She is kennel trained and house broken. She does have some separation anxiety, so I kennel her when I leave her alone. She does, however, sleep in bed with me and at least one other dog and gets along with them fine. She is very sweet and deserves a home that can give her love and attention and make her feel secure. If you would like to set up a meet and greet with Kassie, please reach out to foster@hssm.org

HSSM is home to over 300 pets on any given day, most of which are looking for new forever homes! Your new best friend could be waiting at HSSM right now. Our beautiful, 41,000 square foot facility is currently open to the public. HSSM is open for adoptions Tuesday – Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary to adopt, however, adoptions are first-come, first served. You must come to HSSM to complete your adoption and make sure you bring a photo ID, as it is required to complete adoption paperwork.
Our adoptable animals page is self-updating and displays ALL of HSSM’s adorable adoptable pets from “pocket pets” to birds and of course the hundreds of dogs and cats currently calling HSSM home! See one you like? Make sure you note your favorite’s name and animal ID number so that HSSM staff and volunteers can easily find him/her when you come in!
Adoptions are cut off every day about 30 minutes prior to closing and possibly earlier if volume is high. Weekends are busy and you may have to wait more than an hour (especially in the afternoons) so please be prepared.
