Dakota is a very affectionate, gentle, 97 pound, 7-8 year old female black/tan Doberman with a calm and friendly personality. She is a bit overweight and on a journey to a healthier leaner body. Dakota is a special needs dog; she had a cancerous mass which was removed. There are currently no signs of cancer but she should be monitored to see if it returns.
Dakota greets everyone she meets with a wagging tail and gentle kisses. Dakota is calm and well-mannered. She is content to take naps and relax. If she is left alone she does whine and pace. She is not destructive but will chew a blanket. She sleeps through the night on her dog bed. Dakota will do best in a new home where someone is home with her. She does well when riding in the car. Dakota spent some with another female Doberman and got along well with her. She would be a good companion for an older or more relaxed playmate rather than rough-housing with a young puppy. Dakota is fostered in Maryland.
