Chris is a 9-month-old hound mix with the kindest eyes and the softest ears you’ll ever meet. This gentle soul is as sweet as they come, but he’s a little shy and needs someone special to help him build his confidence and show him that the world is full of fun and happiness.

Though Chris is heartworm positive, the shelter will fully cover his treatment once he’s in a foster or adopter’s home, so he can focus on what really matters—finding a loving family to call his own.

Shelby Humane is an open intake facility in Shelby County Alabama. SH takes in over 5000 animals a year. We provide an adoption program, low-cost spay/neuter program, and low-cost vaccination and microchip clinics throughout the County. In 2018, we launched Shelby SafePet, which provides veterinary care and boarding to pets of domestic violence victims.
