My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This pet needs emergency placement. Please click here to go to our emergency placement page for more information.

Max is on the at-risk list for behavioral reasons. Max has exhibited behaviors in the care center that indicate high arousal, reactivity, and potential for defensive aggression. He frequently jumps, paces, hard barks, and bangs on his kennel door, particularly when handlers enter the kennel room or novel dogs pass by. Max has also displayed concerning behaviors, such as tracking handlers' hands, snapping at the glass, and lunging with growling when approached at his kennel front. Max has shown moments of social behavior, readily approaching handlers, soliciting attention, and engaging with toys. Medically, Max is healthy.

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me.

I will need daily physical activity to keep me healthy and happy!

I would do best in a home with only adult humans.

I need a home without cats or small animals.

I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some canine body language together!
