My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nugget! Nugget is a handsome orange male tabby, estimated to be between 6-7 years old. Once the neighborhood stray, Nugget was rescued after he was found with an injured paw. Now fully healed and thriving indoors, this sweet boy is the epitome of love and loyalty.

Nugget adores affection and is always ready to shower his people with cuddles and warmth, most notably rubbing his big head against your legs. His biggest wish is to find a forever home where he can give and receive endless love.

Nugget is a gentle (but BIG - at 18lbs!) boy who is easy to handle. He would likely do well in a variety of homes, with proper introductions. He is not currently being fostered with other animals, but he didn't bat an eye when he saw a few other TCR kitties from afar. We suspect he may be able to coexist with, and might even enjoy, a cat friend. We think he would also do just fine with cat-savvy, respectful kiddos.

Nugget is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated, and has tested FIV+ and FeLV negative. FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives, even in the same household as FIV- cats. Although many cats do not show symptoms, FIV+ cats can be prone to secondary infections. Like all cats, Nugget will require an adopter willing to stay on top of veterinary checkups and care. Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
