My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jaqueline was part of a family of kittens who was lucky enough to have been raised with a wonderful foster family. She has been with small children, other cats, and dogs. Her foster mom reports she gets along well enough with people (including children) and other cats, but does not like smaller kittens or dogs. Dude is her littermate, and while we do not believe they are a bonded pair, a discount is available if they are adopted together.

More about this rescue

We are East Newton Animal Coalition. We started with a mission to serve the unwanted pets in eastern Newton County Missouri. We are part of a very rural area and many nearby towns are very small and have no animal services. We have opened our doors to many small rural pounds, animal controls, and law enforcement. Our group was able to raise funds to build a new pound in our town, Granby, Missouri. We currently care for the animals of this facility and facilitate their return, rescue, or adoption. We also care for a colony of about 80 "less adoptable" cats at a private residence. We began our relationship with the Joplin, Missouri Petsmart in November 2023 and our cat adoptions have gone from about 6 per year to being on track for around 300 per year. We hope to be able to introduce a dog adoption program at Petsmart soon.
