My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

STYX - 3 years, 56lbs, Heeler/Aussie Mix, Neutered

His Foster Parent Says: "Styx has been an amazing friend since the very first day that I picked him up. It’s hard to describe how much joy Styx has brought to my home. Styx is very friendly, curious, and energetic. He gets along with everyone that he meets, including other dogs (of all sizes), children, and adults. Styx has a lot of love to give, he wishes he can go with me every time that I leave the apartment. Styx is great companion and would be a good match for both a family and/or a single person. He likes to play with other dogs and behaves well at the local dog park. Styx has a sweet soul, and we must find him a loving home, with someone that can give him love and the life that he deserves."

Cuddle bug level: Medium

Potty trained: Yes

Good with children: Yes for all ages

Good with other dogs: Yes

Good with other animals:  (he tries to chase birds; he has not been around other animals
like cats and rabbits during my supervision)

Mouthy behavior: Low

Leash manners: Getting the hang of it (sometimes pulls but responds to corrections)

Okay in the city: Yes

Jumping on people to say hi: learning not to do this, responds with correction

Separation anxiety: Nope - fine alone

Crate training: Yes

Medical status
Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake

How this dog ended up with Social Tees:
Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!

This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes.
